Position Overview
The Student Success Centre within Student and Enrolment Services is currently seeking a Full-time Regular Specialist, Academic Integrity and Student Success Initiatives.
The Student Success Centre is committed to providing student-centered programs and services that focus on student retention and enhancing student learning and student development.
Reporting to the Director, Student Success Centre, the Specialist serves in an expert leadership role on matters of academic integrity, and other academic success initiatives at the University of Calgary. This includes demonstrated expertise in emerging issues and current initiatives in academic misconduct policies, procedures and in the teaching and learning of academic integrity and academic writing in the post-secondary environment. The Specialist will be expected to provide expert advice and consultation to senior members of the university community (both faculty and staff) related to student academic integrity. The Specialist will have a dotted line reporting relationship to the Office of the Vice-Provost Student Experience and will be responsible for institutional reporting related to student academic misconduct and the implementation of new academic discipline policies and procedures. Given the strong relationship between academic integrity, academic writing instruction and student academic success, the Specialist will serve as a member of the Student Success Centre management team, oversee Writing Support Services and provide oversight for the institutional early alert program, the Thrive Priority Support Network. This position involves direct supervision of the Writing Support Services Coordinator and 10-12 part-time writing tutors as well as significant leadership skills liaising with faculty and staff to support student success initiatives.
This position works 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday, but on occasion, there may be the need to work outside of regular hours.
