The University of Calgary, Faculty of Nursing is seeking Sessional Nursing Instructors to teach undergraduate level clinical courses in the community of Wainwright, Alberta, for the Fall Semester 2024 and Winter Semester 2025 as follows:
FALL SEMESTER (September 1 - December 31, 2024)
TERM 5 ¿ NURS 489 (Integrating Nursing Roles and Practices III): Acute Care (med/surg placements)
WINTER SEMESTER (January 1 - April 30, 2025)
TERM 6 ¿ NURS 499 (Integrating Nursing Roles and Practices IV): Chronic Care (med/surg placements)
We are seeking applicants with nursing practice experience in rural acute care and chronic care environments, particularly those with previous nursing education practice experience. Practice education takes place both on and off campus. Scheduling varies and may include a combination of days and evening shifts. The successful applicants are required to be available during that entire period(s). Applicants who are interested in teaching the lab or clinical alone are invited to apply. Please indicate in the cover letter if available for the lab, clinical, or both. Please note: Mileage for instructor travel may be covered.
Schedule:
Fall Term 5: Lab Monday 1300-1700; Clinical Days/Evenings Thursdays and Fridays
Winter Term 6: Lab Monday 1300-1700; Clinical Days/Evenings Thursdays and Fridays
Sessional Instructors are provided with exceptional orientation, mentorship, and ongoing professional development. The amount of remuneration is calculated according to the Collective Agreement, Schedule B. Candidates must be eligible for registration with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta. Candidates with BN/BScN preparation will be considered.
