Position Description

The Department of Biological Sciences within the Faculty of Science invites applications for a Fall 2022 Term CMMB 411 Sessional Instructor.

The successful candidate will have responsibilities for instruction and associated duties for this 3-unit course, which will be offered in person.  There are no laboratories or tutorials associated with this course.

CMMB 411 - Molecular Genetics

CMMB 411 focuses on the molecular biology and gene expression in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Topics include DNA topology, genome structure, chromatin structure, DNA replication, DNA repair and recombination, mechanisms of transcription and gene expression, post-transcriptional RNA processing, and translation.

Fall 2022 Term Dates:    August 29-December 23, 2022

Teaching Schedule:    Lectures are MWF 3:00-3:50 pm and will be offered in person.


The successful candidate requires a minimum of an MSc in one of the biological sciences, with a PhD preferred. They also require evidence of teaching effectiveness and previous teaching experience, preferably in this course or in a similar molecular genetics course.
